Posted by Jimmy as Blog Tutorial, Design, Tips, Writing

The New Year is about resolutions, isn’t it? Have you made yours yet? Well, at least those pertaining to your blog. One thing that can be said about the blogosphere is that it is constantly changing. Your blog may be good, but it can always be better. There is always room for improvement!

If you have not taken the time to think over your “blogging resolutions” for the year, why not join me in going over some very simple yet effective ways to improve your blog. As Jaren said in his post, “start the blogging year 2008 with a bang!

Write more simply
I have harped on simplicity so many times before when it comes to writing your blog posts. The simpler the better. Nothing more to be said.

Check for glaring errors
We are but human, and humans make mistakes all the time. The key is in catching these errors and then taking steps to correct them. Simple typographical errors are easy to catch – just take the time to go through a post before publishing it. An alternative would be to publish it and then view the page for any errors and then immediately correct them. Other common errors like the misuse of pronouns (their and there, its and it’s, your and you’re) should also be avoided. Try taking the time to find out what your common errors are and then pay special attention to them this year!

Let’s continue this list in the next post.
