Music And Blogging (Part 2)
Posted by Jimmy as Blog Tutorial, Opinion, Tips, WritingIn the last post, we talked about the similarities between music and blogging as presented by Hans over at Daily Blog Tips. We were only able to look at one element – rhythm. Let us take a look at the other similarities.
Style
For many, style is everything. Though it may be true, style is also relative. When it comes to music, you have the blues, rock, jazz, pop, classical, grunge, techno, and so on. Though we do not really have such classifications when it comes to writing blogs, we do have our own different styles. There are those people who write in an informative manner. Some write as if they were talking to a friend. Some write as if they were giving a lecture at the university. Others would cuss, some would be prim and proper. What is important is that you find your own style and stick to it. Know which style of writing you are most comfortable with and do your best.
Visuals
Hans used the term image. I wanted to use a term that is more encompassing. Visuals include more than the photos you include in your blog. It includes your blog template and design. Your header. Packaging your blog is an important thing. Many people visit blogs not only for the content but for the eye candy as well. This is akin to the packaging that musicians do for their CD labels. You can just imagine how much they spend on these designs!
