Where Do You Get Your Inspiration? (Part 2)

Posted by Jimmy as Blog Tutorial, Tips, Writing

Blogs and magazines – they’re really full of ideas that can get you going with respect to your own writing. Are there other things that can give you that boost of inspiration when you need it the most? Well, of course! Read on to find out more about where I get my inspiration – who knows, you just might find something to inspire you as well!

Movies
I love to watch movies – if I can find the time. However, I do realize the value in watching movies as they not only can give you a bit of relaxation, but, depending on the movie you watch, you may very get some inspiration. It would be good to watch something related to the topic you write about. For example, when I was working on a poker blog, I watched Rounders – that was inspiration enough!

Other people around you
When I noted this down, I had specific people in mind. I have this friend who is crazy about video games – he is a PS3 fanboy, so to speak. Each time I talk to him, I get ideas for another blog I maintain, which is about gaming. Then there is my boss at work. He is a jack-of-all-trades – I never know what I might learn next when I talk to him. I suppose I am lucky that my colleagues are just as interesting and full of different perspectives. Interact more with people like these and you will never run out of inspiration.

What an interesting way to get people interested in reading! Book trailers are like movie trailers, but for books! You can find them all over the internet now, but here is a site that’s featuring them on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/booktrailers
