Why Your Blog’s Theme is Indispensable to Blog Monetization

Posted by Guru as Monetization, Monetization Features, Writing

If you are thinking of starting a new blog for monetization purposes finding the perfect theme or topic to blog about is of utmost importance. Undoubtedly you have been reading plenty of advice (or at least plan on reading them) about blogging and monetization. With all the advice found in the internet you would think that making money through your blog is an easy thing. However, if you really think about it you will find that the vast majority of blogs do make money but not enough to really be relied on as a consistent and sole source of income. There are plenty of reasons for this and to be able to make money you had better really listen to advice on SEO, blog design, and all the writing tips. What’s funny about blog monetization advice is that bloggers rarely discuss how important finding a perfect theme for your blog is.

As I have mentioned earlier finding the perfect topic to blog about is of utmost importance. The reason for this is very simple. The blogosphere is composed of MILLIONS of blogs with thousands being started each day. What this means is that though there are lots of people who go on the internet to read blogs there are just as many other blogs to read. What this translates to is stiff competition. If you are blogging about something that very few people will be interested in you can be sure that you will also get very few traffic, and thus, even less income from your blog. On the other hand, blogging about a topic that is very popular isn’t also always a good idea especially if you are not that knowledgeable about that topic. This reason for this is because a popular topic will surely have lots of blogs already about it, and unless you are an expert most people won’t bother spending time reading your blog, as opposed to the experts’ blogs. Instead what you should do is spend a lot of time thinking about what your blog really should be about.

On my next post I will be discussing how you should about finding a blog topic that would suit you.
