Are You A Blogging Addict? (Part 2)

Posted by Jimmy as Blog Tutorials News, Blogging Tools, Opinion, Software and Widgets, Tips

In the last post, we took a look at something that a blogging “addict” may obsess about – the number of subscribers. Well, here’s another thing that someone with an intense desire for blogging can obsess about – statistics.

To be honest, I have gone through this phase a couple of times in my blogging life. Even if I would like to think that I have overcome this obsession, I still find myself checking my blog stats a little more than I should. Ask yourself this question – how many times do you spend checking your blog stats?

I like Google Analytics. It gives tons of information with a very easy interface. It makes it all the more tempting to check every couple of hours. I’d like to put the blame on Google but the truth is that it’s all mine – and maybe yours also, if you check your blog stats more than twice a day.

Come on now, do you really think checking your blog stats all the time will make any difference? Maybe it would do you and your blog much better if you used all that time checking your stats for other more productive purposes. Maybe you could browse the Net for some ideas for the next posts. Maybe you could work on the formatting and tags of your blog.

A good thing to control the urge to constantly check your blog stats is to set a specific time for this. Maybe several minutes everyday would be fine.
