Commenting on other blogs

comments, comment, comments

There is that saying “No man is an island” and it seems to apply to blogs. A blog could not live on its own. Well, maybe it could, in a way but for how long? That remains to be seen. This is the day and age of conversations and a lot of it is being done on the blogosphere.

Comments go a long way.

If you think about it, it is like making new friends except that this is online via blogs. Very specific, isn’t it? Nevertheless there are also some dynamics to blogging and mainly that could be seen through comments. Those who write sensible comments whether in agreement to a blog entry or contrary to it, could spark more detailed conversations. Also it could promote your reputation on the Internet.

Do not just sound trite.

Some who go all over the blogosphere, or do what is called blog-hopping, may sometimes be very at ease and they could say all sorts of things on their minds. There are those who just say “Thanks and great insight!” It might sound like you are just being polite or that you do not have much to say on the matter. Maybe it is partly true. But maybe it would be better if you specify in what way you have been helped by the blog entry. There are some spammers who say “Thanks for sharing the information. I hope you could visit my site too.” You might see that in a blog entry dedicated to the different ways to decorate your home and the annoying is that it sometimes contains links to sites that sell some kind of medicine. If you sound like one of them, it might hurt your online credibility.
