Do You Write Too Slowly?

I have a friend who is a very good writer. She tried web writing and soon got into writing for blogs as well. She has since then started to make good money writing for other people who didn’t have the same (excellent) writing skills as she does. She has one big problem, though – her turnaround time takes a while. If you are into web writing, you would know that sometimes, really fast turnaround times are needed. This is especially true if you are dealing with a client who needs results quickly but gives the specifications a little too late. More so, if you are maintaining more than one blog, you would also need to speed up your writing a little bit. Are you like my friend? Does it take you forever to come up with a single blog post? Well, I am here to help. Here are some suggestions that may help you speed up your writing a tad bit. Don’t be a perfectionist on your first try. Even the best writers have this thing called first draft, you know. You cannot really expect yourself to come up with the perfect post on your very first try. I think I have talked about this point in the past. When writing, just let your ideas flow and become words, sentences, and then paragraphs. Do not obsess over the accuracy of your grammar, structure, and punctuation. Leave the editing for later. You are human, after all. You need some leeway to make mistakes. You can always correct them later on.
