Using images on your blog

paintings and sketchesWhat kind of blog do you have? Is it a journal of your day to day activities? Do you use your blog for marketing purposes? Whatever kind of blog it is, do you think about its aesthetic appeal?

Reading various materials on the computer screen has effects on the eyes and also the person viewing it. That is why you should check out the different kinds of tips concerning blog design and usability. You have to make sure that your blog is appealing to the readers and visitors in different ways.

Why use images?

  • Images enhance the blog’s overall aesthetic appeal.
  • Diagrams and flowcharts could replace detailed steps or at the very least, summarize them.
If you have how-to’s on your blog, you might as well place diagrams and flowcharts. Sometimes the number of words could overwhelm the readers. Too much information, so to speak. Diagrams and flowcharts could very well depict the steps, the entire process.
  • Pictures paint a thousand words.
It is cliche but it rings true. Images can set the mood of your blog entries. Aside from that, if you are blogging about an event you attended, it is better to share images and video clips (if possible) so that your readers will be able to share the entire experience of being there. And if all else fails, make your own. You don’t have to be a great artist but if you are one, well and good for you.

Have you noted of all these already? Start digging up those images in your computer or the Internet!
